Bohemian Patio Delight

Bohemian Patio Delight

This bohemian patio is the work of Kennesha Buycks of Restoration House Interiors for our Patio Style Challenge series here on The Home Depot Blog.

For her patio makeover, Kennesha expertly combined colors and textures to create a relaxed and comfortable outdoor space with lots of personality.

Read on to see how she pulled the bohemian patio look together.

Bohemian Patio Delight

Our front patio has been in dire need of a refresh since we moved in almost two years ago, and I was so excited to get a head start on it all with some help from my friends at The Home Depot.

Before the patio makeover, imagine this space completely empty and full of bikes, old patio furniture, four kids’ worth of shoes piled up at the door…you get the picture. But now I’m so pleased with my bohemian patio.

I decided on the Cane Crossing Patio Chairs and accent drum table from the same outdoor collection. The Cane Crossing Collection comes with 16 fabric options and a ton of coordinating outdoor accessories, including throw pillows and patio umbrellas.  I love the way the set compliments the Mediterranean/bohemian style I was shooting for on this Patio Style Challenge.

We have a bit of a unique living situation as our family provides part-time foster care, and we live in a community where the homes are under strict rule where any home alterations are concerned, so most of the DIYs that I wanted to do had to be scratched off of the list. But I could make some small changes that would still have a big effect on our porch! Plus, we have absolutely NO BACK YARD, which isn’t ideal for me, but it’s our reality.

So I decided to make lemonade with those lemons and transform our long, narrow front sitting area in the bohemian patio I was thinking of.

I wanted lots of pillows, indigo, texture and greenery and added lots of fun plants from The Home Depot with clay pots to add pops of color and life to this once drab space. It’s amazing what adding plants can do to a space and now we have plenty of them here to create a warm, welcoming place for family and friends.

I can see lots of fun summer nights ahead of us. Lounging here with friends. Good conversations and lots of laughs.

For texture, I added lots of baskets and branches to fill in the empty spaces and even more potted plants.

To pull it all together and for finishing touches, I added a vintage rug and some salvaged items to give the space a little more visual impact and interest.

I absolutely love adding vintage and antique items to any space I am styling, and this bohemian-style patio makeover begged for a little rust and character.

Overall, I am so thrilled with the way this space turned out and how the seating helped me pull it all together. I can’t wait for more warm days! So thankful to The Home Depot for partnering with me to make my bohemian patio happen.
