Colorful Christmas Decor
Who said holiday decor needs to stick to traditional color schemes? Our creative blogger partners took color to the next level for the Holiday Style Challenge. Here’s a quick look at some of our favorite out-of-the-box color combinations for the holidays.
Shannon Ingle of Coffee Paint Repeat defied holiday norms while staying on trend with her mixed metal decor. She took color into her own hands by spray painting ornaments with Rust-Oleum Metallic Copper Spray Paint.
The metallic copper perfectly complements the assorted silver ornaments on her tree and garland. We love how the silver tree ornaments reflect the tree lights, giving this winter wonderland a little extra sparkle. If you’re having trouble choosing which holiday color scheme to go with, follow Courtney Hamby of The Hamby Home’s lead and choose them all! Courtney decorated her tree in silver, green, blue, gold and red ornaments. Instead of evenly dispersing the ornaments, she separated them and placed them in color blocks and diagonal lines cascading down the tree.
Courtney’s unconventional color scheme doesn’t stop with her tree. She opted out of traditional wrapping paper and went for a modern red and black buffalo check that goes perfectly with the nutcrackers at the foot of her tree. A red and green winter wonderland just isn’t for everyone. Holly Wade of Club Crafted stepped out of the cold and onto a sandy beach to style her home for the holidays.
Holly used neutrals to create the beachy vibe on her mantle. She also included blue, gold, white and silver ornaments with bright pops of green to tie the winter wonderland and natural beach elements together. Be sure to check out Holly’s Beachy Holiday Decor post for more ideas on how to get this look.
