- (1) Black metal lamp guard
- (1) 8 ft. SPT-1 brown cord set
- (1) 6 in. brass nipple
- (1) Brass hex nut

- (1) LDR Pipe Decor ½ in. black iron pipe 45 degree elbow
- (1) LDR Pipe Decor ½ in. by 24 in. black iron pipe connector
- (3) LDR Pipe Decor ½ in. black iron pipe union (2 pack, 6 unions total)
- (5) LDR Pipe Decor ½ in x 6 in black iron pipe connector
Building the Body of the Lamp
Step 1
Thread four of the ½ x 6 in. black iron pipe connectors into the black iron pipe cross, so that it looks like an ‘x’ when you are finished.
Step 2
Screw on ½ in. black iron pipe unions to the end of each ½ x 6 in. pipe connector. This will stabilize the base.
Step 3
Unscrew one of the ½ x 6 in. pipe connectors, and thread the 8 ft. cord through the connector.
Then thread the cord through the side opening of the pipe cross into the hole on the top and reattached the connector.
Step 4
Take the ½ in. x 24 in. pipe connector, and thread the cord through to the other side, and attach the pipe to the remaining hole in the pipe cross.
Step 5
Thread the wire through 45-degree black pipe elbow and screw onto the 24-in. pipe connector.
Step 6
Thread the wire through a ½ in. pipe union, and screw the union onto the pipe elbow.
Step 7
Thread the wire through a ½ x 6 in. pipe connector, and screw it into the pipe union.
Step 8
Thread the wire through a 90-degree black pipe elbow and attach the elbow to the union.
Step 9
Thread the wire through a ½ in. pipe union, and attach to the 90-degree pipe elbow.
This should complete the pipe assembly process.
Wiring the Lamp
Step 10
Thread the wire through a 6 in. brass nipple, which will cover a up most of the lighting cord. There will be a tiny bit of the brown cord showing between the pipe and the nipple.
Step 11
Screw one brass hex nut onto the brass nipple so that a ¼ in. of the nipple is still exposed on the other side of the nut. Then twist the socket base onto the brass nipple until it stops.
Twist the hex nut on top of it to close any gap.
Step 12
Make sure there is about 6 in. of wire exposed, and separate the wires so that you can tie an underwriter’s knot. Be sure to read the instructions on how to properly do that on the back of your cord package.
Step 13
Attach the wires to the screws in the socket jacket according to the directions, and push the socket pieces together.
Step 14
Place the black metal lamp guard over the socket and tighten. There will be some wiggle room, but it should be tight enough that the cage can’t slip off.
Step 15
Screw in your Cree 40W soft light LED bulb
Your black pipe table lamp is now complete.
