Tequila Lime Shrimp Recipe

Many cooks enjoy grilling salmon, tuna, mahi mahi or swordfish, which can be cooked in a variety of ways, and taste just as good as your traditional ribs or burgers. If you’re looking for a unique and easy grilled appetizer for your next get together, you’re in the right place!

Spice up your next cookout with this appetizing and flavorful tequila lime shrimp recipe. Toss grilled shrimp over a salad, skewer on a kabob or serve with your favorite steamed vegetables. This dish is sure to be a hit among all of your guests!


What You’ll Need

For the Shrimp

For the Marinade

  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons tequila
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 large clove garlic, minced
  • 1 pinch ground cumin
  • 1 pinch ground coriander
  • 1 pinch dried oregano
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 large lime, quartered

Fresh Cilantro Pico (optional):

  • 1 medium tomato
  • ¼ red onion
  • 1 bunch Cilantro
  • Pinch of salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. Combine marinade ingredients in a medium-sized bowl and mix to incorporate.
  2. Reserve 1 tablespoon of marinade. Finely chop tomato, red onion and cilantro.
  3. Combine finely chopped vegetables with reserved marinade.
  4. Combine remaining marinade and shrimp in a plastic bag or container and marinate for 2-4 hours.
  5. Drain excess marinade from shrimp and place on skewers.
  6. When salt plate is fully preheated, place skewered shrimp on plate and cook 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. When shrimp have finished cooking, remove from block and serve with fresh cilantro pico.
